Summer Capsule Wardrobe - Mom Edition
Summer is officially here and I think we can all agree it’s about time! After months of braving the cold (and what felt like the longest winter ever!), summer makes me feel alive again. Summer is about waking up, throwing on an easy outfit, and heading out the door feeling like a 10, even as a mom. No matter what your schedule holds—though I hope it’s jam-packed with a lot of beach days and patio drinks, a summer capsule wardrobe can be mixed, matched, and worn on repeat until the first leaf of autumn falls. A capsule wardrobe is supposed to simplify your closet, while focusing on a small number of essential pieces that work together effortlessly. That’s where I come in to help and make your life easier, especially as a mom who always wants to feel confident and comfortable on the go!
Why I Love The Idea of a Capsule Wardrobe
First, a capsule wardrobe isn’t for everyone–I totally get that. But for me, when I had to wear a “uniform” my life was a lot simpler. I know that sounds kind of dumb, but I felt freed from an overwhelming choice of what to wear every day. If you are interested in building a summer capsule wardrobe, the first step is taking a good, hard look at what you already own, then figuring out what needs to go—and what holes your closet has that need filling. Recently, I’ve been listing more clothes on my Poshmark, which is a great way to get rid of some clothes and make extra money! Trust me, if a piece of clothing has sat in your closet for a couple of years you aren’t wearing it again lol! I’ve held onto clothing for sentimental value (which is fine for a few pieces), but now I’ve really tried to narrow down pieces that I don’t like or dresses that have become way too short for my liking.
