Mother’s Day Reflection
As we gear up for Mother’s Day festivities next weekend, I can’t help but reflect on my own motherhood journey. My journey to becoming a mother wasn’t easy, but I’m so grateful for God’s timing. For any moms who are experiencing loss, pain, or a season of waiting, I see you and am always praying for you. I remember I wanted to be pregnant so badly back in 2021 and Mother’s Day rolled around and after several months of trying, we got another negative pregnancy test. I spent my day sobbing and curled up in bed. In God’s perfect timing, I ended up pregnant a week after my father-in-law passed. I truly believe that through all the ups and downs, I became a stronger mom and woman from it. Little did I know, God would bless me with two beautiful babies four years later. Through that season of waiting, I learned patience and resilience. In a nutshell, that’s what being a mother is all about. In our fast-paced world, where social media often portrays a perfect reality, it's easy to overlook the challenges of motherhood. But, over the years I’ve learned that motherhood is truly all about the care we give, the love we share, and the way we show up for others. The smallest acts of kindness can make all the difference. We are simply nurturers by nature. This Mother’s Day, I’m reminded that Blake and Blaire are my biggest blessings, greatest teachers and joys of my life, besides my husband :) I also wouldn’t be where I am today without the unconditional love and support from my own mom. I am reminded that “mom” is not just a title but a sacred calling, a test of patience (a lot of it!), and a journey of love and resilience.
Here’s to all the incredible moms who are killing it! Your day-to-day routines may be mundane, but you are making all the difference! May your Mother’s Day be filled with love, joy and no meltdowns. Motherhood is one heck of a journey, but we are all in it together!
As much as I love when my husband spoils me, Mother’s Day surprises don’t have to be over the top. Sometimes, little acts of kindness mean the most or an hour of silence (hint, hint Gary). Here are some heartfelt gifts that I did with Blake and Blaire that will make this Mother’s Day extra special to any mom.
