Fall Decor Trends I’m Loving

As the leaves outside start to turn golden and the mornings get a little cooler, I can’t help but get excited for fall. For me, fall is more than just a change in weather, it’s an opportunity to make my home cozy and welcoming. As moms, we’re always looking for ways to create cozy spaces where our family can slow down, make memories, and enjoy the season together. And trust me, you don’t need to be an interior designer to make that happen. This time of year, is perfect to make simple changes that can feel like a major upgrade to your home. I love swapping out bright summer colors for richer, earthy tones such as deep oranges, warm browns, and soft creams. Add in a few cozy blankets on the couch, a few neutral throw pillows, and a fall centerpiece on the table and you’ll be amazed how these small changes can instantly change the mood of your home. I always try to choose pieces that are both beautiful and toddler-proof because Blake and Blaire are always curious about my new decorations - I mean what toddler wouldn’t be! It’s about making our home a place that feels safe, relaxed, and ready for all those little moments that make family life so sweet. Fall has always been my favorite season for a reason.

For me, as much as I want to make my fall decor look pretty, it’s about creating an atmosphere that feels warm, welcoming, and perfect for my family. Fall decorating brings a sense of seasonal excitement. It’s also a way to build lasting traditions along with setting the tone and encouraging everyone to slow down and enjoy each other’s company. There’s nothing better than cozying up by the fire on a chilly fall evening.

A fall trend I’m loving is neutrals. There’s something calming about a neutral color palette, especially when life with a toddler already comes with plenty of bright toys and colorful messes, including crayons on your walls :) Neutral layers keep the home feeling cozy and put together without overwhelming the eye. They also go with about everything! I love a neutral basket and blanket on my fireplace and in my living room. Cozy and comfort all in one, plus easy for snuggle moments with Blake and Blaire.

Another trend I’m loving is warm metallic accents. Warm metallics like copper and brass add just the right amount of shine without feeling too flashy. They bring that golden, cozy glow we crave in fall while staying timeless enough to use year after year. They also stand the test of time. I recently purchased a brass pumpkin candle holder which adds such a vibrant touch to my fireplace. Since I have two toddlers, I skip real candles and use battery-operated LED ones. They still look magical at night but without the safety worries. I also love metallic chains because they are so simple but can accent a coffee table, fireplace, or any small space.

Another favorite trend is of course pumpkin inspired decor. Nothing says fall quite like pumpkins. These add instant fall charm, but I make sure to place the breakable ones higher up. Velvet pumpkins are toddler friendly as they’re soft, colorful, and safe if they decide to explore. I also love to group candles around my pumpkin decor as it creates a warm focal point. There’s nothing better than having a decorated spot in your home to curl up in. Add in a pumpkin spice latte and what more do you need.

Next up, and probably one of my favorite changes we made to our kitchen space was replacing our blinds with neutral curtains. It completely changed the whole vibe of the room and added more warmth and a lighter tone to the space. I always say less is more in any space. Simple pieces, like a small lamp, chains or bowls can give a room so much personality without overdoing it. If you’re looking to add fall touches to your walls, try adding a wreath. It provides a pop of color while adding dimension to your space.

Decorating for fall isn’t just about switching out colors but a time to make your home feel cozy and inviting, especially after working a long day. As moms, it’s truly the little things that can bring us so much joy. I’ve been counting down the days until Starbucks releases their pumpkin spice menu! When decorating your home for fall, always remember less is more and simple pieces can truly make all the difference in a space.
