A 10-Minute Makeup Routine for Busy Moms

As a busy mom of two, I’m always looking to simplify my routine, especially when it comes to makeup. After Blaire was born, I made it my mission to find a quick and easy makeup routine that fit into my schedule. I’ve always loved doing my makeup as it’s been a way for me to feel more put together, especially after having kids. Since becoming a mom, developing a simplified makeup routine has been essential for busy mornings. It also has made me feel a little more like myself instead of a hot mess express and more confident so I can tackle my day! I hope my 10-minute routine will also bring out your inner confidence as we all deserve to feel our best as moms, even on the days we feel defeated! Never doubt what a little concealer and mascara can do!

My 10-minute makeup routine is all about simplification. I’ve tried so many products over the years, and I finally feel like I’ve found products I love and can’t live without. My number one tip is to invest in quality makeup brushes for a faster application and to embrace the “no-makeup” look to save time while still looking polished.

MY 10-MINUTE MAKEUP ROUTINE

You can shop all my products at the end of the post or by clicking the links!

I always start my routine by cleansing and moisturizing my skin. It not only preps my skin but wakes me up and makes my skin look dewy and fresh! I swear by ZO Skin products (thanks to the Shot Shop if you’re local!) They are bit of a splurge but 100% worth it in my opinion. I truly can’t live without them now!

After prepping my skin, I will apply my tinted moisturizer. I don’t know the last time I wore foundation as I always grab my tinted moisturizer for an effortless look. It gives me a good enough glow without the heaviness of foundation. I also love this product because it’s formulated with SPF 25. A win-win in my book!

Next is my under-eye concealer and the one product I think all moms can benefit from! From those sleepless nights to chasing toddlers all day long, this product can make you look well-rested (it’s truly magic!). I’ve been using the Armani concealer for years and I love how it stays put all day long. I also highly suggest you don’t use your fingers when applying this product but try the Hourglass concealer brush. It blends the concealer seamlessly into your skin and diffuses the look of pores and fine lines. Like I said before, pure magic!

After I’ve concealed any blemishes and my under eyes, I go in with my contour stick. I was so intimidated by contouring at first, but it’s truly effortless once you get the hang of it. Here’s one of the first videos I watched on contouring if you’re looking for some tips! A little goes a long way! I will then apply my liquid blush for a subtle hint of pink to my cheeks. I use a beauty blender when I contour and for my blush as I feel like it’s the best way to blend everything seamlessly into your skin. I will then finish with my setting powder. This truly ties everything together and makes your face pop. It’s the only setting powder that will hold my makeup in place for hours, even when I’m outside running around with my kids!

Next up, is eyes and brows. I’ve been using the same mascara and eye liner since high school! The Lancome mascara has a curve to the brush which makes it easy to apply and gives your lashes a lift for up to 24 hours (yes you read that right!) I then go in with my liquid eyeliner. I usually only apply eyeliner to my upper eye lids as I want to achieve that little to no makeup look but add a little pop to my eyes. I will then take my brow brush and fill in my brows along with brushing them upwards. In my opinion, they look cleaner and sleeker when you do this!

Lastly, and my favorite step is to add a little liner and gloss to my lips. I go in with the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk lip liner (my ride or die!) and then add a nude gloss over. Again, it gives that no makeup look while enhancing your natural lip color but doesn't look too overdone.

Simplifying any routine can be daunting, especially your makeup routine but finding what works for you is a start! Makeup shouldn’t be complicated, but I always like to think less is more. It’s all about finding the right products for your skin tone and that fit into your quick routine. Always remember that you’re beautiful with or without makeup, but sometimes it can enhance your features and make you feel more confident. As a mom, I always want to feel my best, so I truly have found that these products do that for me!

If you happen to try any of these products and love them as much as I do, please share on social media and tag me (@heids261)! That’s the biggest compliment! XO
